A sign representing men and women.

Being a girl attracts opinions, comments, compliments and, at times, also criticisms. But I see my gender as being an individual entity that not only is my identity but also a huge bolstering force. I am really proud to be a girl.

Whenever we celebrate days acknowledging the presence of women, we fail to provide them the full space that they deserve. It is also very crucial to remember the contribution of men towards the true liberalisation of women.

Therefore, this day of the girl should not only be a mere celebration but a day recalling the efforts of all those personalities who have helped girls get their rightful place in the world. I am proud to be a girl!!
